🔢 Chinese Number Converter

Enter an Arabic number to convert it to formal Chinese (capital), lowercase Chinese, and a TWD amount in words.

The amount in words uses 元 (dollar), 角 (10 cents) and 分 (cent); anything below 分 is truncated. Capital figures are used on cheques, promissory notes and contract amount fields to prevent tampering.

About formal Chinese numerals

Formal Chinese numerals (大寫) use complex characters such as 零壹貳參肆伍陸柒捌玖 and 拾佰仟萬億 in place of everyday 一二三, making amounts hard to alter. Banks, contracts and invoices therefore require amounts to be written in this formal form.

For example, 1234 becomes 壹仟貳佰參拾肆; as a TWD amount it is 壹仟貳佰參拾肆元整, and 1234.56 becomes 壹仟貳佰參拾肆元伍角陸分.

All conversion runs in your browser; the numbers you enter are never uploaded or stored on a server.
